OO 2.2.1 Typed characters show only in repeat mode

• install OO 2.2.1 (default, no updates)
• start writer

• type a (visible) letter (e.g. "a")

• nothing happens

• now keep the key pressed a few seconds (repeat mode)

• A whole bunch of "a" characters appear, but with a few seconds delay

• Try now the same with BackSpace and Enter ..

• Some non-visible characters seem to work (but not Tab)
