Digital Dynamite Testrun demo FreePascal error 216

TestRun demo ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=6921 ), VBox 5.0.20, bootcd-r31729(rosbe).iso with vbox additions and working AC97 sound, still gives runtime error 216. Tested with multiple versions in the past - though it might not always happen (sometimes it might run without sound).
The demo works (imperfectly - with palette shift and crash on exit) on virtual windows xp system.
