AMD Drivers do not draw properly

I installed ROS on my computer that has a Radeon HD 5450 1GB video card. I then installed the drivers from AMD off the CD. I rebooted OK and ROS started up ok but nothing drew right. Most things drew as black and white and closed windows stayed painted on the screen. This is what filled the debug log.

My monitor resolution is 1400x900 and I had ROS set to 1280x1024 which was max that would work on my display.
