Regression: when invoking the renaming in explorer we can not longer type any character while in renaming mode (system detects ctrl being pressed constantly)

0.4.8-RC-18-g64dcc95 gcc dbg

-Open explorer-file-browser
-select any file
-try to invoke renaming-mode via F2.
you often have to press F2 very often before renaming-mode is invoked.

When it finally works,
we can not type any character any longer. The system will not accept any input.

The system behaves as if the control modifier was being pressed constantly (although it is not).
As soon as we press Ctrl a single time, everything works as expected again.
