[AC97] Remood 0.9a crashes which is proven to be induced by AC97

Recently someone (Adam Stabon) upgraded Remood from 0.8a to 0.9a in rapps.
That rapps-DB commit 1d924c0891b96785338dfbedcf2ddd19e055b2ce
changed a lot of apps, obviously without having tested those new versions very well

Remood 0.9a crashes when AC97 is installed.

Reproduction steps
-Install Remood 0.9a on ros 0.4.9-RC-35-g3eb03ef with working AC97 sound
-copy doom2.wad into the folder
-launch the app and see main menu of DOOM2 opening
-as soon as you press "Arrow down" the program will immediately crash
