Copying a lot of files leads to memory exhaustion

I'm copying a lot of files (around 200000) with xcopy (using the switches /I /E /H /K) from a FAT drive to a Btrfs drive and it ultimately leads to either an unresponsive system or to a blue screen.

Edit:

I can reliably reproduce this by extracting the boost sources on a btrfs drive.
