Shell file operations regressed (including copy and Drag'n'Drop)

After one of the Font Shell Extension commits today 0.4.14-dev-76-g730a99c (and following) I am no longer able to drag a file from my DVD attached ISO in VMware 12 Player onto the desktop. See the graphic  for what it should look like when I draw Antivir63500...exe from the D:\ drive to the desktop. After the commit of 0.4.14-dev-77 now the file is no longer copied.
The debug log for the working version contains the following:

and for the non-working version contains the following:
