Regression when drawing the descriptions of icons on desktop, they flash up black-n-blurry for a short time

Environment

• VBox4.3.12, VBEMP, no additions, inbuilt Mesa

Reproduction steps

• install ros 1st and 2nd stage
• Then slow down your VM to improve visibility of the bug. I use 10% limit in VBox settings, which makes it perfectly visible (but I can spot it also without any slowdown)
• Boot into 3rd stage and watch carefully when ros draws the desktop icons

Observed result
The desktop icons get drawn first within ugly blurry black color before they will get properly drawn in unblurry white color

The only thing that gets logged while the desktop icons are drawn is several times

(win32ss/user/ntuser/msgqueue.c:1267) err: MsqSendMessage timed out 2 Status 102

but that happens in both: the good and the bad revisions.
