Picture Viewer makes picture read only while displayed

• Open file in Picture Viewer
• Switch to edit mode, opens file in Paint
• Save it under same name
• Fails (unless Picture viewer is closed)
• Expected result : File is saved correctly

Win2K3 : 

• Picture Viewer is automatically closed when "Edit" button is pressed and Paint launched
• Even if reopened before saving from Paint, write access remain granted.
