Right-click "Properties" for more than one selected file on Desktop, opens Display properties CPL instead

I tested the scenario with the shortcut files we have on the desktop after an installation.
Reproduction steps:

• Select one shortcut on the desktop, right click and select "Properties": the corresponding property page shows up (OK);
• Select 2 or more shortcuts on the desktop, right click and select "Properties" .... What shows up is the Display properties dialog (the CPL).... ?!?!
