    Description

Is it hard to make ROS display the processor as a device in the tree from Device Manager ? I tried the ROS on Qemu package, and it wasn't there. I was hoping for it to report processors just like Windows, two if you have dual core / dual processor / single core with HyperThreading, one if you have single processor and single core, etc.
A quad-processor system with quad core processors would probably have 16 processor devices in D. Manager. I never saw such a system, so no chance of seeing one running Windows XP. But that's the way I think it should be.

And above what XP does, it would be nice if the properties page for these devices would display the speed of the processor. More than that, it would be a blessing to also see the L1, L2 and L3 cache size, FSB and multiplier, like those SiSoft Sandra / Everest applications report. Maybe even further, the instruction sets supported - MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, etc. Whenever the system specs are detected, these details should be written somewhere, and displayed in a tab of the properties page for the processor device. No need to detect them at each reboot. And if the guy changes the processor, the re-detection would still be done just once. I hope it makes sense.

The screenshot shows the XP device manager.
