Small demonstration of what I said

Some requests on this part were made.
ROS doesn't need to look like WC / TC, but it can work like them and even better. Midnight Commander does not offer this.

TC has two sides, you can select files and folders and copy/move them from one to the other. You can copy from one side, and change the name of the destination file that will be on the other side.
TC users may have not realized they can open two Explorer windows, right click on the taskbar, and pick "Tile windows vertically" in any Windows, I think. They would get similar results.
However, doing so will only split the screen between the two windows and that's it.

What should ROS be able to do:

      1) "Glue" any number of windows to each other (something like Ctrl+click on them to glue them together, accompanied by some sort of visual indicator, like making all of them active at the same time). They would then be resized together. 2 windows would behave like in "2win.png" when resized. In a similar mode, 3, 4, or any number of windows would be resized together. Of course, the windows themselves can be any kind of resizable windows, not just Explorer windows.
Whenever the user chooses to "glue" two windows together, these would automatically grow / shrink until they match each other, forming a bigger rectangle than any of them was before.

      2) Regardless if any windows are glued to each other or not, "right-click dragging" a file should pop up a menu with more options than Windows. Instead of just "Move here" and "Copy here" it should also have an option to "copy with a different destination file name" (I know it's too long) or "copy with rename", and "move with rename". The last two either pop up a small window in which the user can edit the file name (initially, all the characters are selected, excluding the extension maybe), either automatically open the file's name for editing after it has been copied to the other explorer window.
Or maybe not "right-click dragging" but proper dragging, with the left-click. Windows, moves files that way. A user familliar with Windows would quickly see that, instead of moving the item(s) by default, ROS asks what to do instead.

3)Copying should have pause, stop and resume functionality.

4)If a file with the same name exists, the overwrite options should be "yes", "yes to all", "no", "no to all", "skip", "rename", "cancel" or equivalents.
Note that I couldn't test if this happens because I couldn't copy/paste files within 0.3.3 RC2 on Qemu.
