Floppy drive doesn't appear in my computer

Floppy drive doesn't appear in my computer, in general you can't access the floppy drive from explorer, if you try to launch a: through start menu -> run it will open my computer (control panel, HD, CDROM) instead.
You can still access it through NTObj??\A:, you see the floppy contents but if you try to open for example a text file it will tell complain:
display_error(0x7b): ERROR_INVALID_NAME - The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
