Official Realtek AC97 driver fails to install from .exe

    Description

      Created an attachment (id=3673)
      ac97 installer crash

      while executing the ac97 driver installer i get this log line:
      -----------
      (ntoskrnl/ke/i386/exp.c:1044) Kill setup.exe, ExceptionCode: c0000005, ExceptionAddress: 7c9165cc
      -----------

      tested in virtualbox 2.0.6

      To reproduce the bug, you MUST reboot your VM before attempting to run installer again

      by forcing the kernel debugger to pop-up, i get the log lines i show in the attached file.
