Setup hangs on virtualbox if cd rom is slave and hd is master on the same channel

Setup hangs after selection of boot method (old/new) if the cd-rom is set to slave, and the HD is set to master on the same IDE channel.
It works if CD-ROM is set to master on the same channel or is on a different IDE channel than the HD.

Trunk build tested: 44821 - release (made by myself), 44821 - debug (from build bot)
I found this issue some day ago playing with the IDE settings on virtual box, so it's very likely that lasts from many builds.

Tested with 44821 debug build, finding the hang, with the following configuration of virtualbox (3.1.2):

The setup does NOT hang in the following situations:

• Hard disk IDE primary master and CD rom secondary master
• Hard disk IDE primary master and CD rom secondary slave
• Hard disk IDE primary slave and CD rom primary master
• Hard disk IDE primary slave and CD rom secondary master
• Hard disk IDE primary slave and CD rom secondary slave
• Hard disk IDE secondary master and CD rom primary master
• Hard disk IDE secondary master and CD rom primary slave

The setup HANGS in the following situations:

• Hard disk IDE primary master and CD rom primary slave
• Hard disk IDE secondary master and CD rom secondary slave

Other settings tested, finding the hang, with vmdk as IDE primary master and cd rom IDE primary slave:

• Controller type PIIX3 / PIIX4 / ICH6
• Boot order: CD rom first / HD first
• OS Type: Windows 2003 / Windows XP
• RAM: 512 MB / 256 MB
• IO APIC disabled / enabled
• PAE/NX disabled / enabled
• VT-x enabled / disabled
• 2D and 3D video acceleration enabled /disabled
• 16 / 32 MB video memory
• With and without serial ata controller
• With and without floppy controller
• With and without audio, network and usb cards
• With the vmdk image mounted in the serial ata controller and the cd rom as primary master the setup boot, but don't find the hard disk

I attached two debug logs int the file.

The first shows the situation after the hang.
The second shows the situation after a successful setup boot and successfully update of the system.
