Firefox 3.5.5 is not rendering pages fully

Computer: Intel desktop board D845HV, Pentium4 1.6Ghz, 128Mb ram

Opening an html document in FireFox 3.5.5 I found that only parts of the page are rendered, mainly the headings.

When viewing the source in the bowser I find that a lot of tags are empty.

The same file renders correctly in FireFox 2.0 and the source is displayed as expected.
