Operating System: ReactOS
Platform: x86 Hardware
Description
I created two virtual machines: one is used for installing ReactOS and one is used with a working Windows 98 installation.
Next I have added the ReactOS disk to Windows 98 virtual machine because I was planning to use it as shared resource on the intranet for easy copying files on it from host PC.
When booting Windows 98, scandisk always pops up showing that the last cluster of the disk cannot be accessed because damaged or unlinked.
Let's see these scenario:
1) ReactOS disk is partitioned with FDISK and formatted with FORMAT. ReactOS is installed without changing existing filesystem. No error is reported when booting Windows 98 with ReactOS disk added.
2) ReactOS disk is partitioned with FDISK. ReactOS setup formats the partition and it installs the files. Windows 98 reports the error.
3) ReactOS setup makes the partition and it formats it, then it copies the files. Windows 98 reports the error.
Tested with QEMU 0.9.1, Windows 98 SE and ReactOS bootcd-51748-dbg.
