Log file of audio driver install and third reboot

I have never managed to get audio working on ReactOS. For a long time I didn't realise that this was unusual.

I'm using virtual box 4.1.8 r75467, though I've experienced this on several versions of virtual box from 3x onwards. Audio is enabled and uses Windows DirectSound and the emulated ICH AC97.

I install ReactOS and when the new device dalogue window pops up I download the AC97 driver from rapps and unpack it to C:\Downloads. Then I select install from a location in the dialogue window and point it to C:\Downloads\inf.

The driver appears to install without problems. However even after restarting two times if I click on the volume control icon in the system tray a dialogue pops up to tell me there are no active mixer devices. Equally if I go to sound properties through control panel everything is greyed out. If I go to the device manager though under the soundcard I am told that the driver is installed and working properly.

I am currently using the release version of ROS 3.14.

I attach a log in two parts the first is preinstall and install of the sound driver, the second is the third reboot and ends where I am told there are no active mixer devices.
