Starting VMware Tools installer corrupts the screen image

If I install ReactOS on VMware 5.5 beta, but cancel the SVGA driver
installation during setup, starting the VMware Tools installer after
completing the setup with the last reboot (and therefore having the resolution
set to 640*840*16) causes a screen image corruption, where the screen goes
very (unusably) dark, and which can be only fixed by resetting the virtual
machine, so the bug can be counted as a crash/freeze. It doesn't occur if I
set the resolution to 800*600*32 and reboot, and only then run the VMware
tools setup.
