Sound does not work anymore, Failed to open \\.\wdmaud

    Description

      With the AC97 driver installed, applications that have sound are silent, and the log shows these lines in succession:

      WDMAUD.DRV - Process attached
      DRV_LOAD
      Failed to open \\.\wdmaud
      WDMAUD.DRV - Process detached
