Offset problems + default text for search box not appearing on IE9

    Description

      There are small undesirable offsets for the language list and the search box.
      Furthermore, the default "Search" text doesn't appear on Internet Explorer 9.
      See screenshot.
      (Tested on Safari 5.1.7 and IE9 under Windows 7)
