Migrating our hypervisors to new hardware and LXC

The rising popularity of ReactOS as well as I/O & RAM intensive software like FishEye puts our rented hypervisor servers under enormous load. Problems like ONLINE-648 have become too common.
We are trying to improve this situation by the following means:

• Upgrading the server to more recent hardware at our hosting provider (possible at no additional monthly cost)
• Introducing LXC as an additional virtualization technology. It promises better throughput for I/O intensive applications like JIRA and FishEye.

This issue is just to link others to it and track some public progress.
For the actual upgrade process, we have a detailed internal documentation shared only between the system administrators.
