Lync 2010 - cannot start after installation

Lync fails to start right after installation (see attached debuglog), on any subsequent start it fails even earlier not being able to see MSVC*90.dll files that were installed with redist along the Lync setup. After copying these files next to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync\communicator.exe it goes back to the attached error.
