Explorer crashes in comctl32

In explorer.exe, I got this error

The instruction at "0x7bf1cf13" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "read".

Using VMWare tools, which gave me an error besides the usual gluefactory error. Using the royale theme, I ended explorer, ran explorer again in task manager, (or let it restart on its own) and then minimized task manager. I then got the error.

Attached is a debug log, where I triggered the error multiple times.
